About Trio Fine Art

Trio Fine Art began as the vision of three talented artists - Kathryn Mapes Turner, Molly Martin, and September Vhay- the original "trio."   Since opening day, the idea that art is as much about sharing as it is about creating has remained the backbone of the gallery's business model.  Today, original partner Kathryn Mapes Turner along with Jennifer L. Hoffman and Bill Sawczuk continue to create work inspired largely by the beautiful place they call home - Jackson Hole, Wyoming - and sharing that inspiration with the public in Trio Fine Art.

"Our hours are better than banker's hours," laughs Jennifer L. Hoffman. "They're artists' hours." The gallery is open just one day per week October through May (Thursdays from noon 'til 6 PM) so the artists can focus on the creative side of their work.  When the summer season hits, the gallery expands its open hours to Wednesday through Saturday (June - September).  The three artists share duties in the gallery, splitting up the work of operating and attending to business.  "So regardless of when you stop in, there will always be at least one of the artists in the gallery.  It's so special for us to be able to spend time with our visitors, to really see what they respond to and to share our excitement about a particular painting, to tell our stories and learn theirs," says Turner.  All three artists have known one another and painted together for many years before becoming business partners.  The feeling of friendship and camaraderie are palpable when you enter the space.  "We all respect each other and learn from each others' work," says Sawczuk.  "I can see influences from the other artists creeping into all of our work."

The gallery is committed to being a welcoming and inspiring space for the community and visitors to Jackson Hole.  "We want everyone to feel welcome when they visit our gallery," says Hoffman.  "Everyone can relate to beauty and emotion.  People know a lot more about art than they realize.  Art is as much about a visceral reaction as it is about technical ability.  Anyone can enjoy that.  We are so happy to be able to share in that experience."
